I love to do TV and radio, but the sphere that gives me most pleasure is after-dinner speaking. The reason is simple: as a complete show-off, I love to be close to, and hear the reactions of, a live audience. It’s probably much the same as an actor treading the boards, responses are immediate and I find the adrenalin rush quite intoxicating!
I always leave people laughing and believe there is no better tonic for easing the woes of the world.
I love talking anywhere and everywhere with everyone and very much look forward to hearing from you. Incidentally, to date I have not given an after-dinner talk in the United States, but would absolutely love to. So, if you are from that side of the ‘pond’ and reading this miracle that is the World Wide Web, why don’t you consider this upper-class English woman whose slant on everyday life has been considered hugely entertaining ……….. if a little eccentric!
